Community Spotlight ::: Featuring Roxi!

Hello everyone!

Firstly, thank you all for being patient with me since my last blog update. I am currently working on a transmog for Eluvia, but as always the bow has not yet dropped for me. You may have noticed that this is a recurring problem that I have in my quest for the perfect outfit but I shall not be deterred!

This post is exciting for me, as I have had this idea running around my head for a while and was waiting for the right opportunity to begin it. That time came this week when I saw a favourite Twitter World of Warcraft community member posting some screenshots of her most loved outfits for her character. This new “segment” of my blog will be called, you guessed it (or very astutely read it in my title *wink wink*), Community Spotlight! It will be a series where a different member of the WoW will be shown off, through their transmogs.

Now without further ado, I proudly present the very first Spotlight member Roxi!

I came across Roxi via twitter. She posts some really great in game selfies that are usually accompanied by an uplifting message. Her sunny rays have touched many people and I think I speak for everyone in WoW Twitter community when I say that we enjoy seeing her posts light up our feed.

This first outfit was the one I saw Roxi post the other day, and it immediately grabbed my attention because of it’s originality and vibrant colouring. Roxi named this one, Fel Goblin Chic.

Item List:

Helm: Fel-Proof Goggles
Shoulders: Plagueheart Shoulderpads
Chest: Nightsky Armor
Legs: Silver-Thread Pants
Belt: Belt of the Betrayer
Gloves: Silver-Thread Gloves
Feet: Boots of the Betrayer
Weapon: Terokk’s Shadowstaff

This outfit is a great mixture of world, dungeon, raid and Pandaria challenge mode armour. I daresay it would be difficult for some of you to re-create this look exactly as some of these pieces are no longer obtainable, but I do think it can serve as great inspiration to create a smashing spin off.

In this next look, Roxi is tricksy and pretending to be a Priest.

It is like she is pleading, but I AM a Priest, honest! teehee

Item List:

Helm: Eye of Flame
Shoulders: Shoulderpads of Faith
Chest: Garments of Temperance
Legs: N/A
Belt: Belt of Divine Guidance
Gloves: Sage’s Gloves
Feet: Primal Gladiator’s Treads of Prowess
Weapon: Dreambinder

Here again Roxi is a trasmogger after my own heart, mixing and matching items from raids, drops, the black market auction house and even PvP.

For those of us who know Roxi on Twitter this next outfit is the one we are all familiar with. It’s eye catching and suits her Goblin down to the ground.

Item List:

Helm: Vengeful Gladiator’s Felweave Cowl
Shoulders: Shadowflame Mantle
Chest: Vengeful Gladiator’s Felweave Raiment
Legs: N/A
Belt: High Councillor’s Sash
Gloves: Vengeful Gladiator’s Felweave Handguards
Feet: Frostfire Sandals
Weapon: Lightning Rod (Heroic)

Anyone else thinking that her blue Voidwalker minion could just be the perfect accompaniment to this outfit? Instant accessory!

Finally we come to the fourth outfit simply called Pink and Purple.

Item List:

Helm: Amethyst Beholder Eye
Shoulders: Mantle of the Horned Nightmare (Mythic)
Chest: Robes of Azure Downfall
Legs: N/A
Belt: High Councillor’s Sash
Gloves: Sister’s Handshrouds
Feet: Frostfire Sandals
Weapon: Sho’ravon, Greatstaff of Annihilation (Heroic)

Roxi’s use of colour and combining armour pieces is really well thought out. At first glance people may not think that the outfit matches, but take a moment to really look and you will see little details that all meld together beautifully and create a great look.

I asked Roxi a few interview style questions to share with you all. I do not know about you, but I am always curious to hear about how people create their transmogs and what inspires them within the game.

Hi, Roxi and thank you for agreeing to be shown off in my very first community spotlight post! Let us start with the basics. Where are you from, how long have you been playing WoW, and what is it that keeps you in the game?

No problem. I’m happy to be here. My name is Roxi and I am from the US server called Zul’jin. I’ve been playing World of Warcraft since the end of Wrath (beginning of Cataclysm). There are a few things that keep me in the game but the main thing that keeps me here would definitely be my friends. The World of Warcraft community is my home.

As we can see, you main a Goblin Warlock. Has this class always been your favourite and what drew you to the Goblins?

My original main was a Draenei Death Knight, actually. For a long time, death knights were my favorite but I decided to try leveling an alt. I fell completely in love with my warlock when I leveled her, though… and that’s kind of how things went down. Later, I transferred to the Horde side and chose goblins because they are adorable & sassy. It seemed like a good fit for what I wanted my online character to be.

You have shared with us three awesome outfits. Is one of them the most loved, and what inspired them?

I think it’s pretty clear to anyone who has seen me which outfit is my favorite. Definitely my purple outfit with the horns. My second favorite outfit is the first set that I showed you, though. I love how the green and black mix together. It’s a really nice combo when I want to get my warlock more in touch with her fel roots.

Apart of putting together cool outfits, what are a few of your other favoured things to do within the world of Azeroth?

I love taking SELFIES & I adored running challenge modes back in Mists of Pandaria. Right now, you can find most of my adventures on Twitter since the awesome merger of Warcraft with Twitter.

A couple of weeks ago the new expanion ‘Legion’ was announced. Are you looking forward to it, and is there anything that you would like to see happen within the new transmog system that they have promised us?

I am really looking forward to being able to use transmog items without having the transmog item in my bag or bank. I think that they have been taking up bag space for too long. It is a step in the right direction by Blizzard to move us to a more Diablo-esque type of transmog system where we can use the transmog even if we no longer have the item in our bags.

Finally, what ideas or tips do you have for others who would like to try their hand at putting together a great transmog?

Find colors and themes that you love and don’t stop until you find a set that makes you happy.

I want to thank Roxi for agreeing to be my very first Community Spotlight member! For those of you who would like to know more about her you can follow her on Twitter, and also visit her website. I suggest you do both, you will not be dissapointed.

If you have some outfits you would like to show off, or know of someone that you would like to nominate to be the next person in my Community Spotlight, please do not hesitate to get in touch with me! I love all things transmog and love seeing what other people put together.

Until next time!
