Today was one of those days when I ran into a building to do some banking and selling, and was stopped in my tracks by another player who had made an awesome transmog for their character. What was different was that I decided to speak to them about it and ask if they would mind if I wrote about their outfit on my blog. Luckily for me they agreed and so here I am presenting the goblin Woodsplitter and her Stylish Steampunk transmog. I was so excited that I have pretty much written this post straight away!
I was attracted to the transmog because it’s monochromatic sensibilities, the sparks of green that pop, and the fact that it looks great on a Goblin, which, let’s face it, can be harder to make stand out sometimes as some armour can look squished.
Here is the item list:
Head: Cybergenetic Mechshades (requires engineering to wear)
Shoulders: Ahn’Kahar Blood Hunter’s Spaulders
Back: (Hidden – no mog)
Chest: Ahn’kahar Blood Hunter’s Tunic
Hands: Ahn’Kahar Blood Hunter’s Handguards
Waist: Belt of Imminent Lies (Heroic)
Legs: Ahn’Kahar Blood Hunter’s Legguards
Feet: Pack-Ice Striders
Gun: Mimiron’s Repeater
Woodsplitter also mentioned that when she feels like using a bow, she chooses: Vishanka, Jaws of the Earth
Now not all of us are engineer’s in the game, so if anyone out there would want to try and recreate this transmog, you might consider these goggles from Ulduar which can be worn by any mail user. Steamworker’s Goggles
What you cannot see in still screenshots, is that the cogwheels on the goggles as well as the belt buckle spin. The gun releases steam, and a light on the top of the ‘antenna’ of the gun as well as the goggles blinks.
The brown, gold and slight orange tones in the rest of the outfit complement those things well and allows them to stand out.
Another pair of boots that would match this outfit, and may be better for those races that are a little taller are: Taldron’s Long Neglected Boots from Icecrown Citadel (10N). On taller races the boots are more easily visible, and the colours might also meld differently.I did not ask Woodsplitter about these boots at the time, but it may be her intention to pick these up still. Either way, on her goblin the boots she has chosen match very well.
I also want to applaud the hairstyle choice as well as the colour which completes the look of this transmog beautifully.
Thank you Woodsplitter for taking the time to chat with me a bit, and for letting me “photograph” you for my blog. I truly appreciate it, and I also hope to feature more random people that I come across on my travels through Azeroth.
